Dr. Leo Motus, Professor, Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia

"Some Situation Awareness Issues in Complex Cognitive Systems, their Sources and Potential Antidote"

Thursday, March 6th, 2014, 7:45 - 9:00 am

Leo Motus (MSc in electrical engineering, PhD in control of stochastic systems with incomplete information, DSc in software engineering for real-time embedded systems) is a professor (since 1992) in Real-time Systems at the Department of Computer Control, Tallinn University of Technology. L. Motus is Secretary General of the Estonian Academy of Sciences (2005-2014). He is the founder of the Research Lab for Proactive Technologies and was the head of the Lab in 2007-2011. He has been Editor-in Chief of an Elsevier journal on Engineering Applications of Artificial Engineering (1994-2001). Today his research interests have converged to situation-aware interaction centered models of computation, proactive computation, the impact of autonomy and self-organization in system of systems, and to on-line verification of behavior in multi-agent systems.
